Like all four of our holiday houses, Stables Cottage, which was formerly the stables for Clydesdale working horses, also has a wealth of exposed beams and stonework. The oak linteled fireplace has a glass-fronted log burning stove as well as full gas central heating. The open plan lounge, farmhouse style kitchen and dining area open onto a south facing patio and to the gardens beyond. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, a twin bedded room and a bathroom with shower and bath.
Fishing: There is a fly fishing lake which is well stocked with trout, 3 minutes drive away at Blencarn. Sykes fishing tackle shop in Penrith can arrange for day or week permits to fish many rivers and lakes in Cumbria and point you in the right direction to fish for salmon on the river Eden.
